Aim of the meeting
We aim to trace the history of numerical analysis through the career and the contributions of Professor Ilio Galligani.
Many of us knew him, some professionally, some also personally, and we wish to honour him as a researcher and a teacher.
His vision of numerical analysis in real-world challenges remains a reference for many of us.
His departure has left a void in the mathematical community, one that cannot be easily filled, for even after his retirement, he acted as a beacon and a source of wisdom.
