Travel information
Bertinoro is located in northern Italy, in the Emilia-Romagna region. Although the nearest international airport is Rimini (RMI, 50 km), the main gateway for the region is the Bologna international airport (BLQ, 80 km). The Bologna airport is conveniently connected with most European capitals and several cities. Low cost airlines also have regular flights from/to Bologna.
The recommended travel solution to Bertinoro is:
1. flight to Bologna
2. transfer from the airport to the Bologna train station (Bologna Centrale) with the Marconi Express shuttle
3. walk (5 min) to the central bus station (Autostazione) from the train station
4. shuttle bus from the central bus station to Bertinoro (provided by the organizers - see timetable below)
Alternatively, if your travel solution is not compatible with the shuttle bus provided by the organization:
1+2. same as above
3a. train from Bologna to Forlì (click here for timetable and online ticketing), trains every 20-30 minutes
4a. public transport (bus or taxi) from Forlì to Bertinoro (on your own)
A dedicated shuttle service will be organized:
Sunday 1 September, 10:00 - from Bologna bus station (Autostazione), next to the central train station, to Bertinoro
Wednesday 4 September, 14:00 - from Bertinoro to Bologna bust station (Autostazione)
Journey time: about 2 hours
Alternatively, you can take a train from Bologna to Forlimpopoli-Bertinoro; trains are much less frequent but the station is closer to the venue. Please note that no shuttle transportation will be organized from / to the Forlì or the Forlimpopoli-Bertinoro train stations.
A public bus service operates between the town of Bertinoro and the train stations of Forlì, Forlimpopoli-Bertinoro and Cesena.
Should you plan to come by car, Bertinoro is a lovely 20 min drive from the Forlì or Cesena exits of the A14/E45 highway.
