How to get to Bologna

BY TRAIN:

  • Bologna Centrale railway station. The city center, as well as the place of the conference, is a short walk away from the train station.

BY AIRPLANE:

  • Bologna Airport (BLQ). You can flight to the airport of Bologna from many European countries. Once you arrive at the airport you can reach the train station, hence the city center, with the Marconi Express in less than 10 minutes.
  • Milano-Malpensa Airport (MXP). Intercontinental flights usually reach the north of Italy in Milano-Malpensa. You can reach Milano Centrale railway station by train (Malpensa Express) in 50 minutes. Finally, there are many trains connecting Milano Centrale railway station to Bologna Centrale railway station (Trenitalia, Italo). The high-speed trains (to be booked in advance) take 1 hour, while regional trains take up to 3 hours from Milano to Bologna.
  • Roma Fiumicino Airport (FCO). Other intercontinental flights arrive in Roma Fiumicino. From the airport, you can take the Leonardo Express to Roma Termini railway station. The trip takes around 30 minutes. Bologna Centrale railway station can be reached in less than 2 hours and 30 minutes with an high-speed train, to be booked in advance (Trenitalia, Italo). We recommend high-speed trains, since trips are extremely shorter than alternatives.
