Vote the Logo

HELP US TO CHOOSE #AISC2021 OFFICIAL LOGO!

We decided to share the choice of the logo for the conference "CANADA 2021: Traditions and Social Innovation" to have an icon that can reflect an inclusive and representative narrative. We asked the students who collaborate in the organization of AISC 2021 to elaborate three logos capable of summarizing the theme of the event.

In the period June - September 2021, users who visited the social channels were able to vote for the conference logo through a like, a heart, a retweet!

At the end of the voting, the logo that had the highest number of preferences was "The Leaf".

Below you will find the logos developed by our students, accompanied by an explanatory caption.

1 - The Leaf

The indigenous and western traditions can be seen as the roots that give life to a new plant whose lymph comes from the encounter between orality and writing. The materiality of the earth and that of the written page thus become the soil upon which is forged a new idea of modernity, that is connected, interdependent, and capable of giving new life to the maple leaf.

2 - The Totem

Nothing can flourish without the awareness of the past, and the future can only be just and equitable if traditions that have long been submerged, but have not disappeared, are recognized and welcomed: every tower of contemporary Canada rests on the indigenous land and it is from this coexistence that the dialogue between these two traditions should be sparked in order to promote the imagining of a new cohesive, inclusive and supportive society.

3 - The Wheel

The medicine wheel standing in the background aims to represent a new idea of circular economy, that is attentive to a sustainable development and respects people and the environment. Therefore, the maple leaf situated within the circle has the ability to embrace new meanings and potentials; in the same way, the stylized pages are reminiscent of open books ready to welcome old and new narratives.
