Conference Objectives

 

The conference provides a forum for researchers, engineers, technology providers, and industry professionals to exchange knowledge and explore the latest developments in mixing and process engineering.

Its objectives are to:

  • Advance the understanding and practical application of mixing technologies across the chemical, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, food, mining, and related process industries.
  • Strengthen collaboration between academia, industry, equipment manufacturers, and technology providers.
  • Showcase innovative models, experimental methods, computational tools, process technologies, and equipment designs.
  • Encourage the exchange of knowledge, experience, and best practices for addressing mixing challenges across multiple sectors.
  • Support the development of safer, more efficient, sustainable, and scalable industrial processes.

Contributions are invited on topics including, but not limited to:

  • Single-phase and multiphase mixing in laminar, transitional, and turbulent flow regimes
  • Mixing and processing of complex fluids, including non-Newtonian and viscoelastic fluids, emulsions, and suspensions
  • Computational fluid dynamics, numerical modelling, and advanced process simulations
  • Mixing coupled with heat and mass transfer
  • Mixing, aeration, and gas–liquid transfer in biopharmaceutical and biotechnology processes
  • Reactive mixing, crystallization, dissolution, precipitation, and particle formation
  • Mixing in continuous and intensified processes, including microreactors, millireactors, and plug-flow systems
  • Scale-up, scale-down, and technology-transfer methodologies
  • Experimental techniques, process monitoring, and equipment characterization
  • Innovative mixer, reactor, and impeller design

Emerging Priorities

The conference particularly welcomes contributions addressing emerging opportunities and future directions in the field:

  • Smart and digital mixing: inline sensing, process analytical technology, digital twins, automation, and machine-learning-based monitoring and control
  • Flexible and scalable manufacturing: scale-up and scale-down under uncertainty, modular production, and decentralized pharmaceutical manufacturing
  • Green and circular processing: energy-efficient mixing, waste minimization, solvent recovery, resource efficiency, and low-carbon manufacturing
  • Advanced bioprocessing: mixing strategies for shear-sensitive cells, vaccines, biologics, and other high-value biological products
  • Mixing for energy technologies: hydrogen carriers, battery slurries and fluids, carbon capture, utilization and storage, and renewable-energy applications
