Getting There
FONDAZIONE GOLINELLI
Established in Bologna in 1988 by Marino Golinelli, entrepreneur and philanthropist. The purpose of the foundation is to support education and training, to spread culture, to nurture the intellectual, cultural and ethical growth of young people.
It is the only Italian case of a private and operative non-profit foundation based on the model of the great american foundations: concrete initiatives, vision and project orientation make this institution a reference model among foundations in Italy.
Fondazione Golinelli develops innovative projects capable of connecting schools, universities, research, and the business world. The awareness that knowledge is the result of concrete experience and knowing how and the need for experimental approach lead all the activities of the foundation. It provides hight-quality contents through exhibitions, workshops, courses and conferences, aimed at people of all ages. The activities are based on a perspective of social responsibility: the education of young people is the key to build a better society capable of coming to terms with the complex challenges waiting for in the unpredictable future.
Since 2015, the Opificio Golinelli gathers all the activities of Fondazione Golinelli. The new Centro Arti e Scienze Golinelli will be inaugurated in October 2017.
